I managed a team of developers and actively developed software for Windows systems, Windows Embedded platforms (Embedded CE, XP Embedded), Ingenico’s Unicapt32 EMV payment application platform and the web. Trained technical and sales teams in Windows Embedded CE 6.0 and Windows XP Embedded. Designed software architectures, interfaces between various devices, card payment host systems, retail platforms. Designed software and hardware architectures for unattended payment systems at petrol stations, banks, transport systems, and others. Designed web applications and web sites, wrote copy, prepared sales presentations. Coordinated company re-branding. Designed a knowledge base and sharing system that optimizes R&D, sales and operational performance. Designed and co-developed a pioneer integrated fuel dispenser with a payment and advertising function. I designed and developed a document management software package in use in a large insurance company, two call center software packages and an unattended device (kiosk) application for web surfing, payment and advertising. I designed or co-designed all database architectures at the company, using Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.

Designed and developed complex remote management and surveillance system for unattended devices in C++ and MFC under Windows 2000. Developed interfaces for various devices and software systems. July 1999 – December 2005: Freelance translator

Independently financed my education by doing translation work. Translated technical and general documents from and to German, English and Slovenian for agencies in Europe, Russia and Canada (for end customers Panasonic, Buderus, Telekom Slovenija, Husqvarna, etc.). Translated and arranged song lyrics for a rock band (Granna) from Slovenian into English. Overseed and coordinated large desktop publishing, translation and proof-reading project for International Masters Publishers (Prague, Czech Republic).

Studying natural languages and researching linguistics, writing, poetry, reading, jogging, cycling, roller blading, playing guitar and traveling the world (I’m especially in love with big cities).

I am also very interested in cultural anthropology, marketing and science.
